Mike Krzyzewski, widely known as Coach K, is one of the most successful and influential coaches in basketball history. A protege of Bob Knight, Krzyzewski transformed Duke University into a global brand, amassing five national championships and a record 13 Final Four appearances.
Coach K’s "NBA connection" was primarily forged through his legendary tenure as the head coach of USA Basketball. Tasked with restoring American dominance after a bronze-medal finish in 2004, he led the professional superstars of the "Redeem Team" (including Kobe Bryant and LeBron James) to three consecutive Olympic gold medals (2008, 2012, 2016).
His ability to command the respect of NBA alphas proved he could have succeeded in the pros, but he chose to remain the "King of Camelot" in Durham. He was inducted into the Hall of Fame in 2001.
