On March 1951, the first NBA all star game was played at the Boston Garden. It was a celebration of the league’s best players, who were divided into two groups. The game was huge success because fans were eager to see their favorite players compete. The game included two teams known as western conference team and eastern conference team.  The eastern team led by Boston Celtics defeated the western conference team, led by Minneapolis lakers by the score of 111-94.
