On July,24, 1983. The MLB season saw one of the most memorable and controversies in history, the pine tar incident. The New York Yankees were playing against the Kanas City Royals when a controversy call was made by the umpire which made the Yankees lose the game. It was about Brett bat which was inspected by the umpire for pine tar on the request of Royals manager after the home run. Upon inspection it was found that the pine tar exceeded the allowed limit which caused the homerun to be cancelled. Which then led to Yankees losing the game and Royals wining it.

But then again its really hard and nerve-wracking to keep one’s calm in a moment like this irrespective of his intention, but it did overshadow the great game.
