The famous home run in baseball history hit by Bobby Thomason also known as the ‘Shot Heard Round the World’ was a game winning home run hit by New York Giants, his three-run homer in the bottom of the ninth inning of a playoff game against the Brooklyn Dodgers, when the N.Y Giants secured the World Series. Even the rivalry between the two teams was at it's peak at that time.

My dad told me about this, on how Thomason hit the home run. it was indeed a do-or-die game and then Giants were down to their last out.

Thomason’s home run is so special because of the rivalry between the Giants and Dodgers. They were THE bitter rivals!!!!
