Big Sky School History

The Big Sky Conference is among the most storied and respected college sports conferences in the United States. Established in 1963, it has been home to some of America’s greatest athletes and teams over its 50-year history. From legendary coaches such as John Wooden at UCLA to iconic players like Jerry Rice at Montana State, the Big Sky Conference schools have produced a wealth of memorable moments that sports fans across the country will forever remember.

As any true fan knows, there are few things quite as exciting as watching your favorite team compete within their conference against rival opponents for bragging rights or even a championship title! The competition among each school is always fierce and intense but also filled with respect for one another – something that makes this conference so unique compared to other collegiate athletic associations worldwide.

In addition to providing an outstanding platform for intercollegiate athletics excellence amongst its members (which includes universities from Idaho, Montana, Oregon & Washington), many Big Sky schools boast impressive academic programs that offer students an opportunity to pursue higher education while competing on NCAA Division I teams representing their respective university colors proudly throughout North America. This unique combination allows student-athletes to develop athletically and academically, too – making them well-rounded individuals who can excel both on and off campus during their time at these institutions!

Furthermore, the rich histories associated with each member institution make up part of what makes this particular league stand out above all others, whether it’s Boise State University's famous 'Smurf Turf,' Weber State University's incredible basketball program, or the University of Idaho Vandals' long-standing rivalry with Washington Huskies - every school provides its flavor when they step onto court/field come game day! So, if you're looking for a place where tradition meets innovation, look no further than your local Big Sky Conference School - you won't regret it!
