Nickname
The Hatters - Luton Town Football Club is one of England's oldest and most successful clubs, having been around since 1885. The club has a long and storied history deep in the local community. Their nickname, ‘The Hatters,’ comes from their association with hat-making, an industry that flourished in Luton during the 19th century. It is believed that many of Luton's players were employed as hat makers before becoming professional club footballers!

Throughout Luton Town FC history, they have achieved great success both domestically and internationally, including winning two League Cups (1988 & 2009), reaching four FA Cup Semi-Finals (1913, 1959, 1988 & 2019) plus promotion into Division One – now known as The Championship - five times between 1965–66 season to 2020–21 season. In addition, they also spent three seasons at the Premier League level between 1992 – 94 before being relegated back down after just three seasons due to financial difficulties within English football.
Their current manager Nathan Jones has done a fantastic job over his tenure so far, leading them up from League Two all way through to challenging for promotion into the Premier League via the playoffs last year, only narrowly missing out on achieving this feat by losing out 1-0 against Blackpool FC. This year however, there appears to be no stopping them as they currently lead the Sky Bet Championship table by 5 points clear of second place Watford FC, who are chasing hard behind!
