Ed "Easy Ed" Macauley was one of the NBA's first elite big men and among the league's earliest superstars. Known for his smooth offensive game, accurate hook shot, and exceptional passing ability, he became the MVP of the inaugural NBA All-Star Game in 1951 and earned seven consecutive All-Star selections.
Macauley played for the St. Louis Bombers, Boston Celtics, and St. Louis Hawks, winning an NBA championship with the Hawks in 1958. He was also part of the historic trade that brought Bill Russell to the Boston Celtics, one of the most significant transactions in NBA history.
He was inducted into the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame in 1960, becoming the youngest male player ever inducted at the time.
