2026 - Stampede Team Formation

The Colorado Stampede was established as a new professional American football franchise in the United Football League (UFL), with the league announcing its arrival in Colorado Springs on September 23, 2026. The team was officially named and unveiled on October 25, 2026, during a launch event at Weidner Field, its home stadium. The franchise is scheduled to begin competing in the 2027 UFL season. Former Dallas Renegades head coach Rick Neuheisel was appointed to lead the team, bringing much of his 2026 Dallas roster to Colorado. Inspired by Colorado’s Western heritage and the Plains Bison, the Stampede represents strength, resilience and community pride.
