Nickname
Legends – The Atlanta Legends of the Alliance of American Football (AAF) have a unique and exciting nickname with some special meaning. The team’s name is derived from the city’s rich history as a significant hub for civil rights activism, music, art, and culture.
Atlanta Legends Origin
Atlanta has long been known as “the City Too Busy to Hate" due to its progressive attitude towards race relations compared to other South cities during segregation-era America. It was also home to many influential figures who shaped history, such as Martin Luther King Jr., Jimmy Carter, Hank Aaron, and Coretta Scott King - all legends in their own right. As such, when choosing an appropriate moniker for their football team, they decided on Atlanta Legends - honoring those who paved the way before them while inspiring current players with their heroic stories of courage & perseverance against adversity.
In addition to paying homage through its name selection process, Atlanta Legends also seeks out ways within its organization structure & community outreach initiatives that will help foster relationships between people regardless of background or creed – something which has become synonymous with this great city over time! From hosting youth clinics at local schools across the metro-Atlanta area each week throughout the season, providing educational resources about sports nutrition/fitness training programs available free-of-charge online, or partnering up w/ non-profits like Boys & Girls Clubs Of America – ATL Lgnds are committed doing whatever possible ensure future generations can reach same heights achieved by iconic pioneers past!
