America East Conference School History

The America East Conference is one of the most competitive and respected leagues in college sports. In basketball, the conference has produced many memorable moments. Vermont became the first of all America East Conference schools to win an NCAA tournament game in 2005 by defeating Syracuse 60–57. Since then, other America East Conference teams have recorded upsets, including Boston University’s victories and Stony Brook’s run to the later rounds of March Madness, which further raised the conference’s national profile.

Beyond basketball, the success of America East Conference schools extends into other sports. Maine dominated baseball with multiple titles between 2009 and 2012.
