Morgan Wootten
Inducted:
2000

Morgan Wootten is a legendary figure who proved that greatness doesn't require the bright lights of the NBA. Spending his entire 46-year career at DeMatha Catholic High School in Maryland, Wootten became the first exclusively high school coach to be inducted into the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame.
Wootten’s career was defined by staggering consistency; he never had a losing season and led DeMatha to five national championships. His most famous victory came in 1965, when his team snapped the 71-game winning streak of Power Memorial, led by a young Lew Alcindor. He finished with a record of 1,274–192, the most wins by any high school coach at the time of his retirement. He was inducted into the Hall of Fame in 2000.
