Chris Gocong is a former American football linebacker who played for the Cal Poly Mustangs from 2002 to 2005. He was a standout player for the Mustangs and was recognized for his excellent performance on the field.
During his time at Cal Poly, Gocong set a school record with 23.5 sacks and was named the Great West Conference Defensive Player of the Year in 2004 and 2005. He was also a two-time All-American selection and led the Mustangs to their first FCS playoff appearance in 2005.
After his successful college career, Gocong was selected by the Philadelphia Eagles in the third round of the 2006 NFL Draft. He played six seasons in the NFL, including four with the Eagles and two with the Cleveland Browns. Gocong was known for his physicality and toughness on the field and was a key contributor to his teams during his time in the league.
