2012 - Damian Lillard – Player of the Year

Weber State has had several notable players throughout its history, but one of the most famous is Damian Lillard. Lillard played for Weber State from 2008 to 2012 and was a consensus All-American in his senior season.

During his time at Weber State, Lillard set numerous school and conference records, including becoming the first player in Big Sky Conference history to be named both Freshman of the Year and Player of the Year in the same season. He also finished his college career as the school’s all-time leading scorer with 1,934 points.

Lillard was selected with the 6th overall pick in the 2012 NBA Draft by the Portland Trail Blazers and has since become one of the league’s top players. He is a six-time NBA All-Star and has been named to the All-NBA First Team three times. Lillard has also won numerous other awards and honors throughout his career, including the NBA Rookie of the Year award in 2013 and the NBA’s J. Walter Kennedy Citizenship Award in 2020.
