Javon McCrea was a standout basketball player for the University at Buffalo Bulls from 2010 to 2014. During his time at UB, McCrea became one of the most decorated players in program history, earning multiple conference honors and leading the Bulls to their first-ever NCAA Tournament appearance in 2015.
McCrea’s impressive career at UB earned him a place in the University at Buffalo Athletics Hall of Fame. He was inducted in 2018, joining a select group of UB athletes who have achieved excellence in their respective sports.
As a member of the UB basketball team, McCrea was a four-time All-Mid-American Conference (MAC) selection and was named the MAC Player of the Year in 2014. He finished his career as the program’s all-time leading scorer, rebounder, and shot blocker, and was also named to the National Association of Basketball Coaches All-District team in 2014.
In addition to his success on the court, McCrea was also recognized for his academic achievements, earning multiple academic honors during his time at UB. He graduated with a degree in sociology in 2014.
McCrea’s induction into the UB Athletics Hall of Fame in 2018 was a testament to his outstanding career at the university and his lasting impact on the men’s basketball program.
