2025 - Team Formation: Honors Local History

The Louisville Kings were formally established on October 7, 2025 by current owners and operators by Alpha Acquico, controlled by actor Dwayne Johnson, and Fox Corporation. The Kings compete in the United Football League (UFL). The team’s name, “Kings,” was chosen to honor Louisville’s local history and heritage. They are going to kick off their inaugural season in the spring of 2026, with the UFL regular season beginning in late March.
