In 2014, the UC Irvine Anteaters baseball team had a successful season. They won their first-ever Big West Conference championship, finishing with a 37-19 overall record and a 15-9 record in conference play. The team also participated in the NCAA Tournament, where they advanced to the College World Series for the fourth time in program history. They won their first game against Texas but were ultimately eliminated from the tournament after losing to Vanderbilt and Texas again. It was a significant achievement for the program, as they had not reached the College World Series since 2007.
