America East School History

The America East Conference is one of college sports's most storied and competitive conferences. With a long history of success, it’s no wonder that many sports fans consider themselves avid supporters of the teams within this conference. From its inception in 1979 to today, let’s look at some interesting facts about America East Conference teams and their respective histories.

Regarding basketball, Vermont holds bragging rights as being the first team to win an NCAA tournament game from any school in this conference back in 2005 when they upset Syracuse University by a score of 60-57! Since then, other schools have followed suit, with Boston University winning two games against Kansas State (2010) and Xavier (2011). Most recently, Stony Brook made headlines for upsetting mighty Missouri on their way to becoming only the second team from this conference to reach round three or beyond during March Madness play!

On top of basketball success stories there are also plenty more championships earned by various members throughout different sports such as baseball, where Maine won titles consecutively between 2009-2012; softball, where Albany has been crowned champions four times since 2002; men's soccer, which saw UMBC earn itself two titles back-to-back over New Hampshire & Hartford respectively; women's lacrosse which saw UMass Lowell capture its first championship title just last year after defeating defending champion Albany 10–6…the list goes on!

In addition to these impressive feats across various sporting disciplines within The America East Conference, we can also recognize those behind them: coaches who have dedicated years towards building vital programs capable of competing at the highest levels of collegiate athletics while inspiring student-athletes to achieve greatness both academically and athletically alike - truly making mark American higher education landscape nationwide!
