Amory Gill Hall of Fame NBA

Amory Gill was one of the most successful coaches in early college basketball and a respected leader in the sport's development. Gill was a legendary fixture in collegiate basketball, devoting nearly four decades of his life to Oregon State University (then Oregon State College). Over 36 seasons as head coach (1928–1964), Gill transformed the Beavers into a national powerhouse, accumulating 599 career victories and guiding the program to two NCAA Final Four appearances in 1949 and 1963.

Revered for his gentlemanly demeanor, disciplined tactical approach, and lifelong devotion to Pacific Northwest athletics, Gill also served as president of the National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC). For his monumental impact on collegiate basketball, he was inducted into the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame as a coach in 1968.
