Founded in 1908 as Football Club Internazionale Milano S.p.A., they are commonly known as ‘Inter Milan’ or simply 'Inter.' David Beckham was a club member while playing for AC Milan and LA Galaxy before joining MLS with Paris Saint-Germain FC (PSG). He wanted to bring some Italian flair to his new team by incorporating elements from his former club into their identity - hence why he chose "inter" for their nickname!
The second part comes from where Inter Miami plays - South Florida!
