1995 - Kelly Holcomb Football achievements

Kelly Holcomb is a former football player who played quarterback for the Middle Tennessee Blue Raiders from 1992 to 1995. He is one of the most successful and decorated quarterbacks in the history of the Blue Raiders football program.

Holcomb set numerous school and conference records during his time at Middle Tennessee. He finished his career as the school’s all-time leader in passing yards (9,946), touchdown passes (84), and completions (728). He was named the Ohio Valley Conference Offensive Player of the Year in both 1994 and 1995, and was also a two-time first-team All-OVC selection.

Holcomb’s best season at Middle Tennessee came in 1995, when he threw for 3,392 yards and 28 touchdowns, leading the Blue Raiders to a 9-3 record and a berth in the NCAA Division I-AA playoffs. He was named a first-team All-American by the American Football Coaches Association and The Sports Network, and was also a finalist for the Walter Payton Award, which is given annually to the top offensive player in Division I-AA.

After graduating from Middle Tennessee, Holcomb went on to play in the NFL for 12 seasons, spending time with several teams, including the Buffalo Bills, Cleveland Browns, and Philadelphia Eagles. He is widely regarded as one of the most successful NFL players to have come out of the Middle Tennessee football program.
