2006 - Paul Millsap

Paul Millsap is a former basketball player who played for the Louisiana Tech Bulldogs from 2003 to 2006. During his time at Louisiana Tech, Millsap established himself as one of the top players in the nation, and is widely regarded as one of the greatest players in the history of the Bulldogs men’s basketball program.

As a freshman in 2003-2004, Millsap quickly made an impact, averaging 10.5 points and 6.3 rebounds per game and earning Western Athletic Conference Freshman of the Year honors. He followed up that impressive debut with even better seasons in 2004-2005 and 2005-2006, averaging a double-double in both seasons and earning first-team All-WAC honors both years.

Millsap’s best season at Louisiana Tech came in 2005-2006, when he averaged 19.6 points and 13.3 rebounds per game, leading the nation in rebounding and earning the WAC Player of the Year award. He finished his college career with 1,677 points and 1,235 rebounds, both of which are school records.

Despite his impressive college career, Millsap was not selected until the second round of the 2006 NBA Draft, when he was picked 47th overall by the Utah Jazz. However, he quickly established himself as a productive NBA player, earning four All-Star selections and playing for several teams, including the Jazz, the Atlanta Hawks, and the Denver Nuggets.
