Jeff Kent is widely regarded as one of the most prolific offensive second basemen in the history of Major League Baseball. He is one of the most accomplished offensive second basemen in Major League Baseball history, playing 17 seasons from 1992 to 2008. A five-time All-Star, he enjoyed his greatest success with the San Francisco Giants, where he won the 2000 National League Most Valuable Player Award after batting .334 with 33 home runs and 125 RBIs.
Kent finished his career with a record 377 home runs by a second baseman, along with 1,518 RBIs and a .500 career slugging percentage. In 2000, he won the National League Most Valuable Player Award after leading the league in RBIs and helping San Francisco reach the postseason. He also helped lead the Giants to the 2002 National League pennant. His outstanding contributions to the sport earned him a place in the National Baseball Hall of Fame in 2026.
