Victor Hanson stands as one of the most versatile and celebrated multi-sport athletes in American college sports history. Playing for Syracuse University from 1924 to 1927, Hanson led the basketball team to a remarkable record during his three-year varsity career. A three-sport college athlete, he played football, basketball, and baseball at Syracuse University in the 1920s, serving as team captain in all three sports. Following college, he played professional basketball briefly for the Syracuse All-Americans.His legendary collegiate scoring dominance and leadership earned him dual honors across major sports bodies. Victor Hanson was inducted into the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame as a player in 1960.
