2014 - The Sycamores win MVC regular season championship

The 2013-2014 season was a successful one for the Indiana State basketball team. Led by head coach Greg Lansing, the Sycamores won their third Missouri Valley Conference (MVC) regular season championship in school history, finishing the season with a conference record of 14-4.

The Sycamores were led by senior forward and MVC Player of the Year Jake Odum, who averaged 13.9 points, 4.6 rebounds, and 4.5 assists per game. Other key contributors included junior guard Khristian Smith and senior forward Manny Arop.

Despite their regular season success, the Sycamores came up just short in the MVC conference tournament championship game, losing to the Wichita State Shockers by a score of 83-69. The Shockers, who were ranked #2 in the country at the time, were led by Cleanthony Early, who scored a game-high 20 points.

Despite the loss, the Sycamores were selected to participate in the National Invitation Tournament (NIT), where they won their first-round game against the Arkansas Razorbacks before losing to the Louisiana Tech Bulldogs in the second round.

Overall, the 2013-2014 season was a successful one for the Indiana State basketball program, as they won their third MVC regular season championship and earned a postseason berth in the NIT.
