1974 - UC Irvine Anteaters baseball team wins their first conference championship

In 1974, the UC Irvine Anteaters baseball team won their first conference championship in school history. They achieved this feat by winning the Pacific Coast Athletic Association title. The team was coached by Mike Mayne and had several standout players, including pitcher Bob McCullough and infielder Dave Baker. McCullough went on to be drafted by the San Francisco Giants in the 1975 Major League Baseball draft, while Baker was named to the All-PCAA team that year.
