Aurele Joliat was a skilled and speedy left winger, celebrated for his scoring ability and tenacity despite his smaller stature. Playing his entire NHL career with the Montreal Canadiens from 1922 to 1938, Joliat became a fan favorite for his agility, hockey sense, and relentless work ethic. He was a consistent offensive contributor, helping lead Montreal to Stanley Cup championships in 1924, 1930, and 1931.

Known for his ability to create scoring chances and evade larger defenders, Joliat finished among the league’s top scorers multiple times and was a key member of the Canadiens’ “Punch Line” alongside Howie Morenz and Billy Boucher. His speed, skill, and leadership helped establish the Canadiens as a dominant franchise in the early NHL. Aurele Joliat’s lasting impact on hockey was honored with his induction into the Hockey Hall of Fame in 1947.
