Nickname
Renegades – The Dallas Renegades was in the XFL, and their name has a great story behind it. The team was named after a group of Texas soldiers who fought in World War II. These brave men were known as “Renegades” because they refused to surrender despite overwhelming odds against them.
This spirit of resilience resonates with sports fans everywhere, and it’s no surprise that this nickname was chosen for the new XFL franchise in Dallas. It's an homage to those brave Texans who showed courage and determination even when faced with adversity—and these qualities will be needed if the Renegades want to make some noise in their inaugural season!
In addition, there’s also an element of pride associated with being part of such an illustrious group from Texas history: these renegade soldiers were instrumental in helping win WWII for Allied forces around Europe—a fact which makes any Texan proud! This connection between past heroism and present-day football should motivate players and fans during games this upcoming season.
Overall, we can see why Dallas chose “Renegades” as its nickname: not only does it pay tribute to courageous Texans from our state's history, but it also embodies many values important within sports culture today (such as resilience). With all these factors combined, we can expect big things out on the field come game time - so get ready, Renegades Nation; your team is here!

History of the Renegades
The Dallas Renegades are a professional American football team based in Arlington, Texas. The team is part of the XFL and plays its home games at Globe Life Park. The Renegades were founded in 2019 as one of eight original teams making up the league's inaugural season. Since then, they have become one of the most popular teams in the XFL due to their passionate fanbase and exciting on-field play.
The Dallas Renegades had an impressive debut season in 2020 despite being hampered by COVID-19 restrictions for much of it. Led by head coach Bob Stoops, who previously coached at Oklahoma University for 18 years before joining the XFL, they finished with a 5–3 record which was good enough to qualify them for playoffs but ultimately fell short after losing their quarterfinal game against St Louis Battlehawks 20–15. Despite this disappointment, the team still captured many fans' hearts with thrilling wins over Seattle Dragons and Houston Roughnecks during regular season play.
Moving forward into 2021, the Dallas Renegades look set to be even better than last year, thanks mainly because Coach Stoops has been able to remain on board along with key players such as quarterback Landry Jones who performed well throughout the 2020 campaign. With these pieces already firmly established, it will be interesting to see how far this young franchise can go under new leadership from general manager Jeffery Pollack -who recently replaced former GM Keshon Johnson -and what kind of success story awaits them when all is said done come next springtime.
